The grant provides financial support for further professional education and trips abroad
About the Grant
Purpose according to the Articles of Association in the Departementchef P.O.A. Andersen og Hustru Sigrid, f. Johnsens Legat:
- To provide support for further professional education for honourable and diligent young men and women, particularly for further education – including travel assistance – for employees within the employment scope of the Ministry of Finance, primarily in the departments, and where study abroad would be significant for their work, but also for bank officials and merchants. Regarding ‘merchants’, the board interprets this as generally applicable to MBA students or similar, and further, that lawyers and engineers do not qualify as ‘merchants’.
- To provide general assistance to elderly, honourable, and needy men and women, preferably former royal officials or their widows in the Central Administration and the associated educated class of people, also to the closest family of the grant founders, insofar as they are in need.
The framework for allocations for further professional education in the last two allocation years has been between DKK 15,000 and DKK 50,000.
Applications for further professional education are accepted from employees in the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry, primarily the departments.
The application deadline is 20 January. Allocations are made in April.
The grant is not intended for:
- Students in regular education, i.e. enrolled in their bachelor’s or master’s degree programmes.
- Students in regular education going on exchange or internships.
- Lawyers and engineers, as they do not qqualify as ‘merchants’.
