DSEB Donates 250,000 kroner for the Reconstruction of Børsen

Børsen has long served as the venue for DSEB’s Tietgen Award ceremony, named after Børsen’s founder. This year, DSEB is contributing 250,000 DKK to the reconstruction efforts.

The traditional Tietgen Award ceremony has, until recently, taken place at Børsen in Copenhagen. However, following the devastating fire on April 16, 2024, this year’s event was held in a new setting at Axelborg.

Despite the change of venue, the iconic building remained a central focus during the award ceremony. DSEB’s Chairman, Torben Möger Pedersen, presented a check for 250,000 DKK to Dansk Erhverv, supporting the reconstruction of Børsen.

“Børsen is a significant part of Danish history, and the fire this spring was a profound tragedy. For many years, the historic building has been the home of DSEB’s Tietgen Award, named after Børsen’s founder. Prominent business leaders associated with Børsen were instrumental in establishing DSEB, which was originally known as FUHU. This deep historical connection makes Børsen particularly important to us. This year, DSEB has chosen to contribute to the reconstruction, helping to restore one of Denmark’s most iconic buildings, which plays a vital role for both business and academia,” says Torben Möger Pedersen.

“We are deeply grateful for this generous donation, which will help ensure that Børsen once again becomes a valuable cultural and historical landmark,” says Brian Mikkelsen, CEO of Dansk Erhverv.

The donation was presented at the International Chamber of Commerce ICC Denmark and DSEB’s annual dinner on November 26th, 2024. During the event, both the Tietgen Award and DSEB’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award were also presented.
